BIG LIZZIE

Public BBQ

A roadside park at Red Cliffs built around Big Lizzie, the enormous 1915 traction engine that once hauled loads across the mallee, now on display with storyboards and a short audio commentary telling its story. Entry is free. The park itself is clean, tidy and unusually well equipped for a rest stop: toilets, drinking water, a playground, gazebos, picnic facilities, exercise equipment and a large lawn under big shady trees, with ample parking out the front. A silo mural is close by. One of the better places to break the drive to Mildura.
